On a lazy Sunday morning, the people of Mumbai witnessed an inspiring show of physical strength by over a thousand women from different walks of life.
According to a report by The Indian Express, an event organized by Puma as part of the international 'Do You' movement, saw approximately 1,623 women demonstrate their #girlpower when they executed an abdominal plank for 60 seconds.
The mass activity earned them a much-deserved spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Actors Kalki Koechlin and Jacqueline Fernandez, along with Olympic winner Sakshi Malik participated in the grand event and even posted videos of the same on Instagram.

According to a report by DNA, joining the two film actors in the historic event was Olympic medalist and professional wrestler Sakshi Malik who displayed her immense core strength by doing the plank. The plank posture tests one’s abdominal strength, balance and grit.
The Indian Express further reports that supermodel Ujjwala Raut, television sensation Shibani Dandekar, musician Anushka Manchanda and Everest sisters Tashi and Nungshi Malik also participated in the event.
Zumba specialist Sucheta Pal took to Twitter to flaunt the certificate of their Guinness World Record. She also mentioned in a comment on her post that the actual attendance at the event was more than 1,900.
