Jab Harry Met Sejal new song Safar has refreshing video; Arijit Singh's voice captivates

A subdued Irshad Kamil penning down the lyrics as Pritam strums the guitar to find the right chords, a cheerful Shah Rukh Khan perfectly lip-syncing to Arijit Singh's voice and a hesitant Imtiaz Ali recording Khan as he sings. What could possibly go wrong?

'Safar', the new song from Jab Harry Met Sejal has been released and it shows the actor, director, lyricist and composer engrossed in the songwriting process. It seems as if the title of the song was used as a metaphor to describe the journey of not just the protagonists, but also the song and how it came into being. What you see on screen is an unconventional video with specks of playfulness and joy.

The third song of the film is a soothing, easy-going number as opposed to the upbeat party track 'Beech Beech Mein', which was released before this one. Singh and Pritam prove that they are the unshakable music duo who create magic every time they team up for a project.

The duo have belted out such impactful songs in the past that you instantly expect the song to be in Singh's voice, even before it begins. As cliched as it may sound the song uplifts your mood and makes you want to get up and hit the road. It is also symbolic of the characters' eternal journey, marked by unusual events and acquaintances.

The film also stars Anushka Sharma, Evelyn Sharma and Sayani Gupta among others. It is slated for a 4 August release.
