Jab Harry Met Sejal: New song 'Phurrr' is a desi EDM joyride, featuring DJ Diplo with SRK
Ahead of its release this Friday, on 4 August, the Shah Rukh Khan-Anushka-starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal team is in high gear, with the absolutely non-run-off-the-mill promotional strategies, teasers and mini trails doing rounds nearly every day. Now, they have launched their new song 'Phurrr', that features the Grammy Award-winning American composer DJ Diplo.
Diplo not only makes an appearance, but has also composed the song along with Bollywood music composer Pritam. That completely reflects in the way the song progresses. It does have the quintessential desi beats, but also bears Diplo's EDM trademark. The song was launched by Red Chillies Entertainment on 3 August. Featuring Shah Rukh (Harry) and Anushka (Sejal), the song shows them wandering around the streets, having fun and doing a gig along with the local dancers. Sung by Mohit Chauhan, 'Phurrr' reminds you of 'Masakali' (Delhi 6, 2009) and songs from Rockstar (2011) but this time it has Diplo's EDM taking the song to an all new level. The full video song also features DJ Diplo himself along with SRK sitting a red convertible car.
Earlier, on 1 August, Shah Rukh Khan had posted a teaser of the song on Twitter. The teaser revolved around ordinary Mumbai folks who cheer "Phurrr" while dialogues from the film are played at the background.

A news18 report suggests that the song has been shot in Lisbon and Spain. It marks the first joint venture between Khan and Diplo. The superstar had also posted a picture of his along with Diplo on 23 July which shows the camaraderie between them.
Bringing international musicians on-board is not a new thing for SRK. In his 2011 film Ra-One, he had roped in American rapper and musician, Akon to compose two songs— 'Criminal' and 'Chammak Challo'— in the film.
Jab Harry Met Sejal is directed by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. It also stars Evelyn Sharma and Sayani Gupta.
