The Rising Pune Supergiants pacer Ishant Sharma and fiancée basketball player Pratima Singh make for a very photogenic couple. After an engagement ceremony on 19 June 2016, Ishant and Pratima are expected to tie the knot in the first week of December, probably on the 9th.
Just weeks before their nuptials, the duo was spotted at the Dashashwamedh ghat, attending the Ganga aarti event on Tuesday, 2 November.
The couple exchanged their rings in front of family members and loved ones at Delhi’s Uppal Orchid Hotel earlier this year. Rohit Sharma, Ishant's friend and fellow cricketer, congratulated the couple with a tweet that said: 'Welcome to the club, congratulations you two. Lekin aaj ke din toh baal katva leta bhai.'
Ishan and Pratima have known each other for a long time. Pratima Singh started playing basketball for Uttar Pradesh in 2003, and plays for India women's national team. Singh has a family legacy in the sport. Three of her sisters are also members of Indian women’s national basketball team.
Mumbai Mirror has reported that though Ishant Sharma has been selected on the team that will have a face-off in a five-test series next week, the fourth test of which will be underway in Mumbai from 8-12 December; a source has told the daily that Ishant will skip the game and fly home for his wedding and rejoin the team for the final Test beginning on 16 December in Chennai.
