“Bad things are coming”. Ser Davos has shown himself to be man who has just the right words for the right occasions. [caption id=“attachment_3902727” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]
Tyrion and Dany in a still from Game of Thrones season 7 episode 5. YouTube screengrab[/caption] As evidence, we present the moment of Game of Thrones season 7 episode 4 — The Spoils of War — when he asks Jon his thoughts about Dany. “She has a good heart,” Jon says, to which Ser Davos quips, “Oh yes, I saw you staring at her good heart.” Yes, quite. So, when Ser Davos says, “Bad things are coming” we know very, very bad things are coming. Read on Firstpost — Game of Thrones season 7 episode 4: The real winners of 'The Spoils of War' He says these words at the end of HBO’s just-released trailer for Game of Thrones season 7 episode 5, just when Jon announces that Bran has had a vision in which he’s seen the Night King and his army of White Walkers march towards Eastwatch. But it isn’t just these otherworldly battles that occupy centrestage in the episode 5 trailer. There’s Dany, laying down terms for a bunch of weary lords and soldiers: “Bend the knee…or refuse, and die”. (She’s quite set on knee-bending, the Dragon Queen.) Resolutely not bending his knee is Jon Snow, who after a romantic cave adventure with Dany in the previous episode, is faced with the full force of Drogon’s wrath. From what we saw of him last, he’s still standing. Much-concerned about Dany are Varys and Tyrion. In fact, the Spider tells Tyrion: “you must get her to listen”. (We are of course presuming the ‘her’ they refer to is Dany — it could be Missandei, pining away for stuck-at-Casterly-Rock Grey Worm, or Cersei. Unlikely, but it could be. And then of course, there’s Cersei, promising Maester Qyburn (no doubt chuffed at the success of his antiaircraft gun dragon-fighting crossbow) that she’ll defeat “whoever stands in our way”. All in all, a pretty action-packed episode 5 seems to be in the offing. Will Monday never come?
