'Game of Thrones’ actress Carice Van Houten expecting baby with Guy Pearce
Carice Van Houten, who plays the priestess Melissandre in Game Of Thrones, announced that she is expecting her first child with partner Guy Pearce, on Monday.
Houten chose to make the news public with a tweet that said, “Ok, I’m ready for all your shadowbaby jokes” — referencing a scene from GoT which showed her giving birth to Stannis Baratheon’s “shadow baby” that takes on the shape of a man and assassinates Renly Baratheon. She also announced the news on Instagram.
Ok. I'm ready for your shadowbaby jokes.

“Carice and Guy are thrilled to be expecting their first child,” a representative of Houten later confirmed, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Pearce, 48, is the star of films like LA Confidential and was seen in the TV series Snowy River: The McGregor Saga. He was previously married to Kate Mestitz and announced their separation in October 2015 after 18 years of marriage. He has since been linked to Houten, 39. “Nothing like the prospect of a shadowbaby to change your mind about becoming a father!” Pearce said, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
Houten was last seen in the Jesse Owens biopic, Race, in which she played filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl. She’ll be back in the new season of GoT in April.
