The Dharmadurai trailer is all about the different shades of Vijay Sethupathi's character.
Dharmadurai, directed by Seenu Ramasamy, has Tamannaah Bhatia as the female lead and Aishwarya Rajesh and Srushti Dange in supporting roles. Also featured is Radhika Sarathkumar, as the mother of the hero.
Vijay Sethupathi, appears in a rather serious and subtle role in this movie, unlike his previous release.
While the actor played a jolly good character in his 2015 hit Nannum Rowdy Dhaan, Dharmadurai at the looks of it, has the potential to showcase Vijay in a character that has many shades. And the actor, known for his effortless acting, dominates much of the screen time in this trailer.
The film follows the story of Dharmadurai (Vijay) a doctor who is portrayed as being all about sticking to his roots and serving his village.
During this, we see the actor romance different women and maintain what he claims to be a very sincere image for society. He plays the typical doctor taking care of everyone's needs in the village.
In a sudden twist, we see that Dharmadurai has a different side to him; a violent streak. Now he is shown doing everything he can to take on his enemies.
Tamannaah appears in a deglam avatar and plays one of Vijay's love interests.
But Vijay Sethupathi's character seems to form the main crux of the story and not much about the rest of the roles including that of the leading ladies is shown in this trailer.
However, the audience can definitely look forward to Radhika's performance (apart from Vijay's of course).
While the trailer has been trending among fans, the audio release too has been much talked about. Composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the soundtrack is a decent effort and suits the story line.
Songs like 'Endha Pakkam' are on the lighter side and other tracks like Aandipatti and Poi Vaada give us the rural feel. Makka Kalanguthappa is the typical folk tune which we want the hero to groove to at some point in the film.
