The Dark Tower: Mysterious poster of film starring Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey released

The poster of the film The Dark Tower, which is based on a novel by Stephen King, was released by Matthew McConaughey on his Twitter account on 19 March, 2017.

McConaughey tweeted out the poster in a tweet and asked fans to flip their phones in order to see it.

In the poster, a regular two-way street with buildings on both sides is shown upside down, with the figures of a man and a child walking towards the horizon. The duo is presumably The Dark Tower's lead characters Roland Deschain and Jake Chambers, who are played by Idris Elba and Tom Taylor respectively. Matthew McConaughey's character is walking down the upside-down street. He has essayed the role of Deschain's antagonist, Walter Padick. The famous tagline from King's books, "There are other worlds than these" features on the poster too. In the book that the film is based on, a gunslinger undertakes a quest of the literal and metaphorical nature. The film will see Elba's Deschain on a quest to reach the titular Dark Tower and save his world from extinction. Idris Elba and Tom Taylor also tweeted the poster out on their accounts.

The Dark Tower is set to release on 28 July, 2017. It is directed by Nikolaj Arcel.
