Coco trailer: 12-year-old musician Miguel and his dog Dante set off a Pixar-style adventure

Pixar recently released the trailer for its next animated feature film Coco, centred around a 12-year-old boy called Miguel (voiced by Anthony Gonzalez) whose sole dream is to be able to practice music freely, and eventually become an accomplished musician. [caption id=“attachment_4046963” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Youtube screen grab of the Coco trailer.[/caption] However before Miguel can get about to fulfilling his dream, he is transported to the Land of the Dead where he has one interesting encounter after the other, eventually to meet his famous grandfather Ernesto de la Cruz — dubbed as the most celebrated musician of all times. The trailer has The Verve’s popular track ‘Bittersweet Symphony’ as its chosen background score, adding an exciting yet familiar touch to the visual treat that is being presented to us on our screens. Coco’s trailer is vivid, colourful and filled with various components that make it an exciting watch. Miguel’s lovable dog Dante is the furry component of the movie, fulfilling our doggo needs and making us take even more of a liking to the story line. There is a lot of Mexican heritage references throughout the trailer and it will be interesting to see Pixar take on another culture and try to bring it alive on the big screen. Coco features the voices of Anthony Gonzalez, Gael García Bernal, Benjamin Bratt and Renée Victor, and it is directed by Lee Unkrich of _Toy Story 3-_fame, along with Adrian Molina. The film is produced by Darla K Anderson. Coco is set to hit the theatres on 22 November.
