CBFC clears Haseena Parkar with minor cuts, passes Jr NTR's Jai Lava Kusa with no changes
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), under newly-appointed chairman Prasoon Joshi, has passed Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Haseena Parkar with two cuts.
"They requested one word —charas — to be muted and one cut where a woman is shown being assaulted during riots. That’s it. I happily went with these cuts. No argument. The cuts made sense. I must say the censor experience was quick and pleasant. We were in at 6 pm and out in a few hours. We got a ‘U/A’ with hardly any cuts," said Apoorva Lakhia to DNA.
This film will explore the life of Dawood Ibrahim's sister, and her equations with her brother and family. It is slated to release on 22 September. Also starring in the film are Siddhanth Kapoor and Ankur Bhatia.
In a statement, the makers of upcoming action-drama Jai Lava Kusa announced that the film has been cleared by the CBFC with a U/A certificate, without any cuts. The film is slated for worldwide release on 21 September.
The film, directed by Bobby, features Jr NTR in a triple role. For one of his roles, Jr NTR will be seen wearing prosthetics. His look has been handled by Hollywood make-up artist Vance Hartwell, popular for his work in films such as "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy and "Shutter Island".
Raashi Khanna and Nivetha Thomas are playing the leading ladies. Popular Bollywood actor Ronit Roy plays the antagonist. The project marks his Telugu debut.
