Bose: Dead/ Alive first look - Rajkummar Rao plays Subhash Chandra Bose in Alt Balaji web series

Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming venture Bose: Dead/ Alive, starring Rajkummar Rao in the titular role, has been a major subject of curiosity for numerous admirers of the legendary freedom fighter as well as for the fans of the National Award winning actor. The first look of the streaming network’s upcoming Bose: Dead/Alive was revealed by Kapoor on Instagram. The trailer of the series will be released on 18 August. She posted:The motion teaser features Rao sitting, lighting a cigarette and emerging out of darkness revealing his whole getup as Bose. The premise of the web-series revolves around one of the most speculated mysteries of India — whether Subhash Chandra Bose survived the fatal air crash and went into a supposed anonymity. The web-series, according to a report by  The Indian Express, has been directed by Pulkit, while National Award winning director Hansal Mehta has taken the role of creative director. Both Rao and Mehta have collaborated earlier in acclaimed projects like Shahid, CityLights, Aligarh and most recently Omerta, which is slated to have a world premiere this year at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Earlier,  in an interview with _IANS_ , Rao said, “For us, as actors, it’s about the story and the character, not so much about the medium. I did my first film Love Sex Aur Dhokha with Ekta Kapoor’s ALT Entertainment, and to do this new show for ALTBalaji is like coming back home.” On being asked about the upcoming series, Mehta said, “It will be a compelling and thrilling watch,” and that it is a means to revive the story of Bose in the minds of present generation.
