Sunny Deol to launch and direct his son Karan's debut; Dharmendra finalises lead actress

After Sara Ali Khan, Ishan Khattar and Jhanvi Kapoor, another industry kid is gearing up for his big Bollywood break. Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol will make his acting debut soon, with the film Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. [caption id=“attachment_1451891” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Sachin Gokhale/Firstpost](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/sunny_deol_380.gif) Sunny Deol. Sachin Gokhale/Firstpost[/caption] DNA reports that initially, Yash Raj Films wanted to launch Karan but Sunny decided to do so under his production and direction. This might be a result of his fallout with Yash Chopra after the then-new YRF favoruite Shah Rukh Khan overshadowed Sunny in his negative role in the 1993 romantic thriller Darr. Irrespective of the reason, Sunny is leaving no stones unturned for his son’s debut. Bollywood Hungama reports that he has been taking auditions in several parts of north India for months, in search of the lead female actor who will be cast opposite Karan in the film. After he shortlisted four contenders for the coveted role, he showed their audition videos to his father and yesteryear actor Dharmendra. Yahoo reports that Dharmendra zeroed in on a Shimla girl, Saher Bamba, who was adjudged as the Times Fresh Face 2016. She has also moved to Mumbai now, in order to pursue further studies. Sunny wanted to cast a fresh face opposite his son and he seems to have found the perfect one. Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is named after a popular romantic number of Vijay Anand’s 1973 thriller Blackmail, starring Dharmendra and Rakhee. Sunny is planning to start shooting the film on 16 March and do a start-to-finish schedule in order to wrap up the shooting quickly. Sunny’s last directorial was Ghayal Once Again that released last year. It is the sequel to Rajkumar Santoshi’s 1990 action film Ghayal that starred Sunny in the lead role. He has also directed the 1999 romantic drama Dillagi in which he directed another family member, his younger brother Bobby Deol.
