Sridevi's MOM release date pulled ahead by a week, will now release on 7 July
Mumbai: Veteran actor Sridevi's upcoming thriller drama film MOM has been slated for release on 7 July.
The movie, which was earlier scheduled to release on 14 July, will now hit the screens on 7 July, read a statement on behalf of the makers. Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the film has been backed by Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios.
The film also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna. Khanna last appeared in Rohit Dhawan's action comedy Dishoom in the capacity of the antagonist. He was seen locking horns with John Abraham and Varun Dhawan in that film. Khanna will be also be seen in Abhay Chopra's directorial debut, the remake of his late father BR Chopra's 1969 thriller Ittefaq. He will share the screen space with Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha in the film produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
Siddiqui was last seen in Shlok Sharma's film Haraamkhor earlier this year in which he played a teacher in love with his student. While he only has a cameo in MOM, he will be seen in a full-fledged role in Sabbir Khan's musical Munna Michael, against as a villain seen locking horns with Tiger Shroff.
He will also be seen playing the titular character in Manto, Nandita Das' biopic of Saadat Hasan Manto. Siddiqui will also share the screen space with Sushant Singh Rajput and R Madhavan in Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan's science fiction adventure film Chanda Mama Door Ke in which he will play an astronaut.
Sridevi was last seen in Chimbu Deven's 2015 fantasy adventure film Puli in which she played the negative character of a queen. She is also expected to make a cameo in Mr India 2 alongside Anil Kapoor.
