The film, produced by Agnihotri and directed by Tiger Zinda Hai director Ali Abbas Zafar will go on the floors by April 2018, reports Pune Mirror . It is also reported that different parts of the film will be shot in Delhi, Punjab, Spain and Abu Dhabi.

Ode To My Father has been a critically acclaimed film, depicting the Korean history from the 1950s till the recent times. The movie also highlights events such as the Hungnam Evacuation, 1950 Korean War and the Vietnam war. Agnihotri said that he watched the film at the Busan International Film Festival and felt it could make for a great Bollywood film, as stated in the same report.

The same report quotes Agnihotri as saying, “That film is just the starting point for us but since it was an inspiration, we wanted in all fairness to officially own it and acquired the remake rights before going ahead with Bharat. It starts in 1947 and ends in 2000 and is the journey of a country and also a person, both of whom go by the name of Bharat.”

The Bodyguard producer already has a super hit Eid history with Salman. “Bharat is a character that I thought would resonate with him. It’s a huge responsibility making a film with Salman as there are big expectations that come with the job,” he said, as per the same report. He also hinted at possibilities of a Bodyguard sequel.
