Raveena Tandon skeptical about starring in Andaz Apna Apna sequel; here's her hilarious reason
Raveena Tandon has, in the most subtle way possible, highlighted the harsh realities of a female actor's shelf life in the Hindi film industry.
In the process, she also commented on the status of the sequel to a cult classic, Rajkumar Santoshi's comedy Andaz Apna Apna.
India Today reports that during the promotions of her upcoming film, Ashtar Syed's revenge drama Maatr, Tandon was asked whether she would like to be a part of the sequel of Andaz Apna Apna.
The original film , that released way back in 1994, starred Tandon and Karisma Kapoor as the leading ladies and Aamir Khan and Salman Khan as the leading men.
In her response, Tandon joked that while she is willing to reprise her role in the sequel, she doubts that she will not be a part of the film in a physical capacity.
Bollywood Life quotes her as saying, "I would love to be a game for it but I know that my photograph is gonna be hanging there. Aamir and Salman will be garlanding me and Lolo (Karisma) and saying ‘hamaari biwiyan mar gayi, ab kya karein” and they will be running after 21 year old heroines. So that’s how the sequel’s gonna start."
In spite of making her debut almost at the same time as all the three Khans, she no longer gets the same roles as they get. In fact, the three Khans rule the Hindi film industry even 25 years after making their debut on the silver screen.
Tandon's next, Maatr, is produced by Michael Pellico and is slated to release on 21 April.
