Raid: Ajay Devgn to play income tax officer in next film, releasing in April 2018
Ajay Devgn's next film will be a movie called Raid directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. The actor will be seen playing an income tax officer hailing from Uttar Pradesh in the movie.
Raid is set against the backdrop of the 1980s, and the producers of the movie are Kumar Mangat and Bhushan Kumar. The script is written by Ritesh Shah, who has been associated with Pink and Airlift.
With Devgn playing the lead, the movie is centered around a famous income tax raid in UP and is thus based on real life incidents. Work on the movie is expected to start sometime in September this year.
“Raid is a story that needs to be told on the big screen, and I’m looking forward to working with Ajay on a subject like this," said director Gupta as quoted in an Indian Express report. Raj Kumar Gupta also has movies like No One Killed Jessica and Rajeev Khandelwal's Aamir to his credit.
The film is all set to hit the theaters on 20 April, 2018.
In the meantime, Ajay Devgn's Baadshaho featuring an ensemble cast comprising of Emraan Hashmi, Ileana D'Cruz, Vidyut Jammwal and Esha Gupta is slated for release on 1 September.
Devgn has previously starred in movies like Drishyam, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and Gangaajal.
