Qarib Qarib Singlle trailer: Irrfan Khan-Parvathy-starrer is a joyride that has love, fun, adventure at various stops
In the days of films with themes around love, travel, love-during-travel, love-after-travel, director Tanuja Chandra's upcoming film, Qarib Qarib Singlle seems to be a refreshing take on this genre of films.
The trailer of the film was released on 6 October. Qarib Qarib Singlle has a promising starcast of the likes of National Award winner and powerhouse performer Irrfan Khan and Malayalam actress Parvathy, who is known for her phenomenal performances in films like Bangalore Days, Charlie, Ennu Ninte Moideen, etc.
Khan plays the role of a flamboyant small-town guy, Yogendra Kumar Devendranath Prajapati aka Yogi, who is rusty, charming and effervescent at the same time. Parvathy (as Jaya) is seen in the role of a modern woman who is in search of some "action" in her life, or is at least made to seek for it by her friends.
And then, they go for a date (which seems to be made possible through the modern-day online dating services). With this, starts a new journey — two completely different people, with even more different sensibilities, embarking upon a voyage of self-realisation, retrospection with a tinge of spirituality (after all, they go to Rishikesh for a trip). However, the trailer also offers glimpses of a deserty Rajasthan, Neha Dhupia (who seems to be doing a cameo in the film), etc.
Qarib Qarib Singlle, at least by the trailer, promises to be a fun-watch. After all, with actors like Khan and Parvathy (quite a pairing, must say) and Tanuja Chandra (director of films like Dushman and Sangharsh) helming the project, the film surely would be quite an entertainer.
The film is slated to release on 10 November.
