Padmavati: Raza Murad shares his look as Jalaluddin Khilji on Facebook, later deletes post
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati has been creating a lot of buzz since the character posters of Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. On 4 October, veteran actor Raza Murad, who plays Jalaluddin Khilji in the film, shared his look on Facebook, along with a description, and later deleted it.
"This is my look in Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Padmavati. I am playing Jalaluddin Khilji who was the first ruler of Khilji dynasty in India. He ruled India (1290-1296) for six years and was killed by his paternal nephew and son-in-law, Alauddin Khilji, who took over the throne after killing his uncle and father-in-law. Ranveer Singh has played Allaudin Khilji. Padmavati is obviously Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor is Rawal Ratan Singh, ruler of Chittor, Deepika’s husband. The film would be released on 1 December, all over the world," reads the description written by Murad.
In the picture, he can be seen wearing a turban, elegant clothes which include a fur coat, and jewelry. He sports a long beard dyed red and a sombre expression.
Deepika Padukone's look, as the titular character, was all elegance and determination, while Shahid Kapoor looks every bit a Rajput warrior. He plays Raja Rawal Ratan Singh and sports long hair and scars on his face.
Ranveer Singh, on the other hand, is menacing as Alauddin Khilji. In the two different posters of his character, he looks royal and fierce, and the scar under his eye, serves as a reminder of the battles he has fought.
