Kangana Ranaut has many projects lined up — Simran, a film directed by Hansal Mehta, which is about an unapologetic divorcee living in the US; Manikarnika : The Queen of Jhansi, a biopic directed by Krish; and Teju. Speaking to _Firstpost_ , Ranaut recently revealed that Teju is going to be a children’s film, and that she will play an 80-year-old woman in it. YouTube screengrab[/caption] “Yes, we are going to use prosthetics, special effects, body doubles — we will have to use all kind of techniques,” she said to Indian Express about her role in Teju, which is touted to be a comedy film. It is now being speculated that not only will Kangana play an aged characters, but also one who wants to be a witch (and fails miserably), reports DNA. The same report states that the film will explore how she eventually makes her dream come true. Teju marks Ranaut’s debut as a director. “Right now I am only into Simran and Manikarnika. Ideally, I should have had a final draft for Teju by now, but I don’t have it yet. I will get to work on it only when Manikarnika is over, sometime in November-December.” Kangana has entered a different phase of her career now, and has begun involving herself in the making of the film to a larger extent. While she co-wrote the script of Simran, Manikarnika is her first production_._ She also famously said that she will no longer act in films unless they are her own productions. Simran is set to release on 15 September. The release dates for her other two films have not yet been revealed.
The story of Teju will reportedly explore how Kangana Ranaut’s character miserably fails at becoming a witch, but eventually achiever her dream.
