Hoor, romantic track from Hindi Medium, makes you sway to Atif Aslam's uplifting vocals
Sachin-Jigar left us impressed with the shimmy-worthy cabaret number 'Ye Jawaani Teri' from Akshay Roy's romantic comedy Meri Pyaari Bindu.
Now, they are back with yet another solid song, though on completely different lines and from a different film that releases on the same date as Meri Pyaari Bindu.
'Hoor' from Saket Chaudhary's romantic comedy Hindi Medium is a signature Atif Aslam number.
The singer appears in the video lip-syncing to his song on the streets of London. His visuals are peppered all over the video. It would have worked without his appearance as he is all over the song with his textured and soulful rendition.
The romantic number shows the evolution of the relationship between the lead actors. It is from the male perspective as the male character is hesitant to express his love to the female character. But they connect nonetheless and bond over what is left unspoken. While the video starts with the younger versions of Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar, the two actors appear once their characters grow up as love blossoms in the background.
Sachin-Jigar have used both western and Indian musical instruments. The western ones are used for the stanzas as Aslam's deep voice dominates the song there. The Indian ones are reserved mainly for the interlude, along with a hint of the tabla in the chorus. The music composer duo have been long gone from the film music scene and they announce their arrival with this one, and how!
The lyrics are penned down by Jigar's wife Priya Saraiya. The words are beautiful and blend immensely well with both the music and the vocals. It can be safely inferred that Saraiya and Jigar's chemistry also leaves a deep imprint on their musical collaborations.
Hindi Medium is co-produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and Bhushan and Krishan Kumar's T-Series Films. It is slated to release on 12 May.
