Dulquer Salmaan to make Bollywood debut in film with Irrfan Khan, Mithila Palkar
Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan, who has been part of many successful films, such as Mani Ratnam's O K Kanmani and Anjali Menon's Bangalore Days, is all set to make his debut in Bollywood. He will be part of an untitled project produced by Ronnie Screwvala, which will also feature Irrfan Khan and the popular web series actor Mithila Palkar, reports Mumbai Mirror.
"It's a light-hearted comedy that will see Dulquer and Irrfan as friends on a road trip. The film rolls by the month-end in Kerala," said a source to the daily. This film is written by Hussain Dalal, the writer of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and 2 States, and will be directed by debutante Akarsh Khurana. Khurana and Dalal have co-written the script. The project will go on floors by the end of August.
Initially, Abhishek Bachchan was chosen for this role, but had to reject the offer because the dates of this film clashed with that of JP Dutta's Paltan.
Dulquer Salmaan's 2017 releases so far are Sathyan Anthikad's family drama Jomonte Suvisheshangal and Amal Neerad's rom-com thriller Comrade in America. His upcoming projects include Solo, a Malayalam-Tamil bilingual directed by Bejoy Nambiar and Soubin Shahir's Parava.
Mithila Palkar shot to fame with her performance in web series such as Girl In The City and Little Things, and recently also starred in a Marathi film titled Muramba.
Irrfan Khan is currently promoting his international project The Song of Scorpions. He will be part of another of Ronnie Screwvala's projects, where he will be seen playing a lover of Urdu poetry. He has also begun shooting for his next Hollywood project titled Puzzle, where he stars with Kelly Macdonald.
