Bhoomi's new song 'Kho Diya', starring Sanjay Dutt, Aditi Rao Hydari, touches the soul
Amid all the chaotic numbers doing the rounds currently, there seems to be a void; the lack of a mellifluous melody that makes your day better. A melody that you'd love to play on repeat mode.
'Kho Diya' compensates for all that, in many ways. Beautifully composed by musical duo Sachin-Jigar and sung by Sachin Sanghvi (of the composer duo), the song details the change that Aditi Rao Hydari's character undergoes in the film. The happy moments between Hydari, her onscreen father (Sanjay Dutt) and lover (Sidhant Gupta) are interspersed with melancholic ones.
Like the very first line of the song — 'Kho Diya Hai Maine Khudko, Jabse Humko Hai Paaya' — reflects upon that absence of Hydari in the lives of Singh and Dutt. Even though she is physically present, she isn't there in spirit. According to the trailer, it is speculated that something dreadful happens to Hydari after she is abducted from her wedding. The change in her character can hence be attributed to the trauma (physical and mental) she undergoes.
One of the most remarkable aspects of this composition is the use of Raag Yaman to show the emotional twilight in the lives of these characters in the film. It beautifully renders the pathos of the story — all encapsulated into one song.
Bhoomi is touted to be a revenge-action drama, starring Sanjay Dutt, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sidhant Gupta, Sharad Kelkar. It is directed by Omung Kumar and is slated to release on 22 September.
