Alia Bhatt is reportedly Rohit Shetty's first choice for leading lady in Ranveer Singh starrer Simba
Ranveer Singh's upcoming film, a Rohit Shetty directorial Simmba, is in limelight for the powerhouse collaboration between Singh and Shetty ever since its initiation. The leading lady of the film is still not decided. Though earlier Alia Bhatt was speculated to have topped Shetty's choice list, now fresh reports claim a different story altogether.
DNA reports that Alia took too long to revert to Rohit Shetty when he had offered her the female lead for Golmaal Again. Thus, the director is now in no mood to approach her for his next cop film.
While the possibility of Alia getting into the film gets bleaker, two newcomer girls in the industry — Sara Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor have grabbed the eyeballs of the casting director recently. While Sara will make her Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor's romantic drama Kedarnath, Janhvi's first film will be Shashank Khaitan's Dhadak, the remake of Marathi hit Sairat.
The same report states that Karan Johar, who is co-producing Simmba, may play a pivotal role to make peace between Rohit Shetty and Alia Bhatt. On a related note, Ranveer and Alia are already sharing screen space in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy which will release this Valentine's Day on 14 February, 2019.
