The actor has reportedly teamed up with singer-composer duo Sachin-Jigar and recently recorded the song 'Bandook Meri Laila' for his upcoming action-comedy movie opposite Jacqueline Fernandez titled A Gentleman. The track allegedly has a party vibe and is essentially a hip-hop song which the actor will be heard rapping the lyrics to.
The song was reportedly shot at Shankar Mahadevan's studio in the suburbs on 10 August, and the song was said to have been wrapped up within the short time span of three hours. Vayu, the lyricist of the song, felt that Malhotra was 'like a professional rapper' as he worked on the song.
"He has a great baritone which is rare in actors. We asked him what kind of music he likes and he said hip hop. Eminem is his favourite rapper. When we asked him to rap for the track, he immediately said yes. It's a fun song that goes along the lines of, 'A gun is like my girlfriend and my girlfriend's as hot as a gun', which is in sync with Sid's character," said Jigar according to a Mumbai Mirror report.
The song will reportedly also have a 'Haryanvi touch' to it, something that came into play due to the film's directors Raj and DK who wanted to add some spice to the song.
A Gentleman sees Sidharth Malhotra in a double role with a twist, with the actor playing the characters of Sundar and Susheel Gaurav, and Risky Rishi.
A Gentleman is slated for release on 25 August.
