The 1.08 minute trailer of Tamil film Bogan has left the fans asking for more. The teaser captures in a nutshell, everything that the film is slated to be – funny, action-packed and entertaining.
The teaser opens with partners in crime Arvind Swamy and Jayam Ravi’s characters sitting in a car and relishing an old Tamil dance number Kannum Kannum from the film Vanjikottai Valiban. What follows comes across as a fun ride of the two rowdy and uninhibited characters taking the concept of `breaking rules’ to a whole new level.
'Bogan' is an Australian term which means, “An uncouth or unsophisticated person, regarded as being of low social status.” The two characters essayed by Swamy and Ravi appear to be just that, and much more!
The teaser also features glimpses of Hansika Motwani and Akshara Gowda. While Motwani plays the leading lady, Gowda essays the role of a feisty cop.
Directed by Lakshman, Bogan is a confluence of a number of energies. Motwani and Ravi, who shared the screen space in Lakshman’s immensely successful and loved romantic comedy from 2015 Romeo Juliet, collaborate with the director again in this film.
As an icing on the cake, Swamy and Ravi, who worked together in Thani Oruvan last year, share the screen space again but this time, in a different capacity.
A report by The Indian Express states, “While in Thani Oruvan, both were engaged in a bloody game to outfox the other, in Bogan, Ravi and Swami appear to be partners in crime. They drink, fight, romance and even pee together.”
The film is produced by Prabhu Deva under his banner Prabhu Deva Studios. Going by the teaser, the film is everything that the eccentric filmmaker-cum-choreographer represents — spark, moves and speed.
Indiaglitz sums up the teaser and says, “A teaser that truly teases with genuine comedy, stylish acting, breathtaking action and an oomph factor that fire a huge curiosity for Bogan that is a Christmas release.”
Bogan is slated to release on 23 December.
