Black Panther, Pari box office collection: Marvel's superhero film inches close to $1 billion mark
The Anushka Sharma starrer Pari which hit theaters on 2 March, has made close to Rs 20 crore at the domestic box-office having raked in a total of Rs 19.35 crore at last count, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
The horror-thriller has held its ground at the box-office, despite getting off to a slow start on its opening day with some theaters being shut due to Holi celebrations and with the film not having released in some south markets.

On the other hand, Marvel's Chadwick Boseman starrer Black Panther has minted close to a billion dollars worldwide. According to a Forbes report, the movie has raked in gross earnings of $922 million (domestic and overseas). The film is likely to hit the $1 billion mark by the weekend. Black Panther will also be opening in Chinese theaters on 9 March, which is expected to significantly boost the film's earnings.
Directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther has been drawing rave reviews from the audience and critics alike, including an impressive 97% fresh rating at the aggregator service Rotten Tomatoes. The movie is also fast becoming a cultural phenomenon and a landmark for black representation and diversity in mainstream cinema. Black Panther’s opening weekend gross of $192 million is the highest debut ever for a February film and the fifth highest of all time. The movie looks set upon its course of emulating a summer blockbuster collections in a winter month.
