It seems the controversies surrounding Bigg Boss Tamil will not die down. According to a report by The Hindu, she has been summoned by police to probe over her alleged suicide attempt during her stint on the show.
Oviya recently exited the show, after completing 41 out of 100 days, on medical grounds.
It was earlier reported that a complaint has been filed at the Nazarathpet police station by an advocate stating that the producers of the show, Star Vijay, and the host Kamal Haasan are solely responsible for Oviya taking such a drastic step during the show.
The complainant has alleged that they had put up a lot of pressure on the actress. During the show, Oviya was seen immersing herself in the swimming pool inside the Bigg Boss house with her nose closed.
In one of the episodes, contestants were required to perform a task where they had to behave like differently-abled individuals and score luxury budget points. The show received much flak from viewers on social media for this particular task, deeming it as being insensitive. The viewers directed their anger towards both the makers of the show and the host Haasan.
Following all this uproar, Haasan took to Twitter and apologised and expressed anger over the fact that the show makers made fun of differently abled people. He even threatened to quit the show.
Oviya, meanwhile, is out of town and the media has been unable to contact her. However, the police has maintained that there is no hurry and they are in constant touch with her manager. In a report by The Hindu, Nazarathpet police Inspector Jaichandran said, "We have recorded the complaint in the Community Social Register (CSR). We spoke to Oviya’s personal secretary, who denied that she attempted suicide."
