  • Bigg Boss 11 full contestants list:

    Hiten Tejwani

    Hina Khan

    Shilpa Shinde

    Vikas Gupta

    Priyank Sharma

    Zubair Khan

    Sapna Chaudhary

    Akash Dadlani

    Arshi Khan

    Benafsha

    Shivani Durgah

    Puneesh Sharma

    Bandgi Kalra

    Jyoti Kumari

    Neighbours:

    Luv Tyagi

    Mehjabi Siddiqui

    Sabyasachi Satpathy

    Lucinda Nicholas

  • Furthering all of India's Bhabhi obsession, the next contestant in the house is Shilpa Shinde.

  • "Mere relatives underworld se joode hai, sabko maalum hai"

Meet Zubair Khan, a relative of Haseena Parkar. "I don't want to be one of these people."

  • *Popcorn smell in the air*

  • Puneesh Sharma (in his promo) — "Main koi celebrity se kam nahi hoon. Mera just celebrity ka tag nahi hai"

Overheard someone from Delhi saying — "These are the kind of idiots I went to school with."

  • Puneesh Sharma enters the house, with the song 'Aadat se majboor', from Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl.

  • Overheard in Mumbai — "She's got the poise of the lady who could win the show"

  • Apparently, Hina Khan has already decided what she's going to wear on the finale of the show.

"Just like Aamir Khan, a perfectionist," says Salman Khan.

  • The next contestant comes straight from Khatron Ke Khiladi — Hina Khan

  • What's more entertaining than locking up contestants in a house without access to the world for 90 days? A fight!

Bandgi and Arshi get into a boxing ring and have a mock fight, over the kind of "controversies" they will create in the house.

  • Overheard somewhere in Mumbai — "It's always a house party with Salman Khan"

  • Jyoti Kumari, who is a self-admitted "gaon ki ladki", is the next contestant. She's welcomed by Varun Dhawan (who's taken hosting duties off Salman, for a bit),

  • The shower task is when a contestant stand under a makeshift shower, and gets to show off their body (cough, Priyank, we're looking at you).

  • At one point, Akash gets onto a mechanical bull, and sings a rap for Salman, which includes calling him, "the king of Bollywood". He took to riding a bull, with quite a bit of stride, might we admit. A part of his on stage act included saying to the audience, "You say Salman, I say Khan — SALMAN!"

  • Okay, everyone. We have found our favourite contestant — Rapper, actor and overall entertainer, Akash Dadlani.

He's full of swag, and the only contestant who is worth a full-blown minute long promo. He talks, and talks, and talks. (They kept him in jail for a while, but he's been unleashed! Let the entertainment, begin)

"Mujhe ek brand banne ka hai" — Akash Dadalni.

  • In perhaps what is the most entertaining few seconds (of the so-bad-it's-good variety) on the show, we see an enactment where Benafsha plays a damsel-in-distress, Priyank plays eye candy and Salman Khan plays an ex. The skit seems to be one to test everyone's acting skills? Right? RIGHT?

  • Next two contestants are celebrities —

    Resident Splitsvilla hottie, Priyanka Sharma.

Future resident Bigg Boss house hotti, VJ Benafsha.

Both make a splashing entry by dancing to a remixed version of Badshaah's Baby Marwa Ke Manegi.

  • Things have escalated, ladies and gentlemen — the next contestant is a female Swami Om, "Godwoman" Shivani Durga.

She says that Swami Om misused the Bigg Boss platform, and that he's a "fraud tantric".

  • When one of the "neighbours" Sabyasachi asked Sapna Choudhry, "your concerts in Haryana are considered vulgar, and you get paid money for it too (rough translation)" — Salman shut that down by saying, "toh paise ke bina kyun dance karengi?"

    Yes. Correct answer, Salman.

  • The next contestant, Sapna Choudhry, seems to be a Haryanvi dancer celebrity of some sorts. She makes her entry onto stage dancing a song that sounds oddly like the Bhojpuri sensation, Lollipop Lagelu.

  • Apart from the contestants, four additional "neighbours" have been chosen - to make thing a tad bit more difficult for the contestants.

    -Sabyasachi Satpathy

    - Lucinda Nicolas

    - Luv Tyagi

    - Mehjabi Siddiqui

  • Salman informs, "Hiten thinks he's the first contestant in the house. But that's not the case. There's someone else in the house — in the Kal Kotri. A jail in the basement of the house"

We meet Akash Dadlani, who is one of the common contestants. He's so fascinating with his accent, and obsession with rap, that even Salman looks on as Hiten and Akash meet.

  • There are four "neighbours" who are kept in the dark at the moment, who decide if the celebrity is "fit" to enter the house now. But we're not shown their faces. Mystery, mystery!

  • The first celebrity contestant is Hiten Tejwani.

  • Varun Dhawan makes a grand entry dancing around the beautifully decorated interiors of the Bigg Boss house. Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez join him, both looking stunning! Taapse is in a black and blue blouse-and-skirt combo, while Jacqueline is wearing a maroon dress.

Salman joins the trio, dancing to 'Chalti hai kya 9 se 12'

A Judwaa 2 dose, it is!

  • Just like the commoners created havoc for the celebrities last year on season 10, this year the neighbors will be the same — says Salman.

  • Salman's big welcome to us on Bigg Boss 11 is through a medley of his own songs — from 'mere rang mein rangne wali' to 'hangover ' but with a twist. Lots as kids as background dancers; no surprise there.

  • Aaaaand, Salman Khan makes an entry on a cycle.

  • .. What we're not looking forward to. (But to each their own right?)

The 11th season of reality show Bigg Boss premieres on 1 October.

The reality show — an Indian version of international series Celebrity Big Brother — features celebrities locked inside a house for three months under constant camera surveillance, without any gadgets or luxury. It will be back with the eleventh season with Salman as the host.

The theme of the upcoming season will revolve around neighbours.

Firstpost's Seema Sinha wrote about her tour of the Bigg Boss house here. She writes, "Apparently, each of the contestants will be pitted against each other as padosis or neighbour. The house will reportedly be divided into blocks with each belonging to two inmates. The cameras will keep a tab on the contestants, and this year, 90 cameras will be watching their every move."

“We have more cameras this time as compared to last season. With so many cameras, the house has to look good from every angle. Hence the walls are done up in different ways and also painted with vibrant colours. Then it’s fully lit up all the time,” said the National Award winning director, Omung Kumar who has designed the house.

Sinha further writes, "Like the previous years, the house has a swimming pool, a gym and a jail in the lawn area. But this time, the jail has been built underground to make it darker and more frightening. The jail seems to have no amenities other than three string cots. “It is a dangerous looking jail - the kind I had shown in Sarbjit. The ‘prisoners’ can see outside but they will rot inside,” said Kumar, who, along with his team, has taken 55 days to design the house."

Salman Khan will have Judwaa 2 actors Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu as his guests during the opening episode of the upcoming show.
