Beyonce, Jay Z attend rally for Trayvon Martin in NY
Celebrity couple Beyonce and Jay Z, who dedicated the song Forever Young to Trayvon Martin at their recent concert at Yankee Stadium, attended a rally to fight for justice in the teen's honor in New York City.
The rally, which was also attended by Al Sharpton, community leaders, and members of public, was organized in wake of the highly-publicized trial and sentence involving Martin, reported Us magazine.
At the rally, the 31-year-old singer and her rapper husband, 43, kept a low profile, but posed with Sharpton and Martin's mother, Sybrina Fulton at one point during the day.
"Jay Z and Beyonce said they didn't want to speak and they didn't come for a photo op. Beyonce put a beautiful message up on Instagram. Let me tell you, that before a lot of you were down, Jay Z always supported us.
"Jay Z told me, 'I'm a father. Beyonce is a mother.' We all feel the pain and apprehension -- the laws must protect everybody, or it doesn't protect anybody. We do not come from hate, we come from love of children," Sharpton said.
