Baahubali actress Scarlett Wilson lashes out at co-actor for lewd gestures, unwanted advances on film set
Scarlett Wilson, a British model who featured in the 'Manohari' song from Baahubali: The Beginning, was shooting for an upcoming Bollywood project Hansa – Ek Sanyog, where she will be seen in an item song. In an incident that took place on the sets of the film, actor Umakant Rai allegedly made lewd gestures at her and touched her hair, after which she slapped him and stormed off.
Crew members confirmed this news, adding that Umakant Rai was thrown off the set. Suresh Sharma, the producer of Hansa – Ek Sanyog told a news channel that he is going to file a complaint with the Film Federation of India, and that he expects an apology from Rai, failing which his acting license will be cancelled.
It is not yet known if a police complaint has been registered against Rai. A video of the incident, which shows both Wilson and Rai's reactions, has gone viral.
Recently, Swara Bhaskar revealed that she was groped on the sets of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo; it is evident that women's safety on the sets of films, whether in Bollywood or regional cinema, is compromised.
Scarlett Wilson will be seen next in the Akshay Kumar-starrer Gold, directed by Reema Kagti. Previously, she performed an item song in political-drama Shanghai, and was a participant in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 2015 and Dare to Dance. She has starred in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films.
