Avengers: Infinity War trailer shows why Josh Brolin's Thanos is the biggest Marvel villain
The trailer for Marvel's Baahubali-esque magnum opus Avengers: Infinity War is out: but unfortunately Marvel has decided to build hype by keeping it exclusive (for now), meaning you won't be able to see it until the trailer is released to the public. This keeps with the secrecy theme that has gone hand-in-hand with the film so far.
So here's what we know about the trailer after sourcing through various YouTube channels and Twitter. Kevin Feige also mentioned that it will feature almost every hero from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to people who did see it, it was a pretty damn long trailer which started with a few minutes of background. Thor gets introduced to Guardians of the Galaxy by being thrown into their ship. They join up and then fly to another planet which is in pure chaos.
Then we have the Scarlet Witch, who is moving around a few cars with her powers. Everyone's favourite villain, Tom Hiddleston aka Loki, emerges with the Tesseract and passes it on to someone else.
Cut to Queens and we have Peter Parker getting goosebumps He turns around in fear and we see a ship flying toward a planet we assume is Earth. "We have one advantage," Tony Stark says. "He's coming to us." As the ship crashes, we see Mantis, Iron Man, Star-Lord, Doctor Strange, and a few others characters in total shock.
"Fun really isn’t something one considers when balancing the universe," a voice says. Gamora turns around in total horror. "But this puts a smile on my face."
Star-Lord: "Oh no."
And out of a black hole, emerges the purple madman, Thanos.
A fight begins. Doctor Strange and Guardians fight off an unseen villain. Cut to Spider-Man, in his new suit revealed at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, jumping through the air.
A shot of the Wakandan army which includes Bucky. (Spoiler for Black Panther)
Captain America is sporting a full beard (which means he has been through a lot?)
Black Widow has blonde hair.
Thanos, in the heat of battle with the Infinity Gauntlet on his hand, uses the power of the two stones he has to grab a moon. He starts to drag it toward whatever planet everyone is standing on. The debris starts to fly and... cut to title card.
We have counted 16 superheros so far that will show up in the film.
Though critics seem super satisfied with the trailer — we cannot help but wonder, how the directors of the film, the Russo brothers, will manage to pull off with the focus being on too many people. Or will it be a case of too many cooks (superheros) spoil the broth?
Avengers: Infinity War opens on 4 May 2018, 10 years after the Marvel Cinematic Universe launched with Iron Man.
