Anurag Kashyap next's directorial may be a gangster flick similar to 'Gangs of Wasseypur'
Anurag Kashyap’s directorial Gangs of Wasseypur, written by Zeishan Quadri, turned out to be arguably one of the most iconic gangster films, given the critical appreciation it reaped, along with its box-office collection.
A source close to Quadri reveals that the writer is reuniting with Kashyap for another gangster film at the same capacity.
“The film is all about gangsters from Bihar. He has written the film, which Anurag Kashyap might direct. Next month they will sit and take the final call,” says the source.
The source further reveals that Anurag wants to direct it but he has to like the screenplay. “If Anurag is not impressed by the screenplay then Quadri will have to do the necessary changes and direct the film himself,” said the source.
Reportedly, Quadri is also planning to venture into television as a director, with a reality show this year.
When we contacted Quadri, he preferred not to divulge, except giving inkling of the developments. “Actually I am doing a lot of things on the writing front right now. I am just making a bank,” said Zeishan.
The Gangs of Wasseypur writer has turned producer with Sarabjit, where Randeep Hooda plays the title role and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays a de-glam role of Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur.
“We have finished shooting for Sarabjit, except few patch works,” he said.
