Anupama Parameswaran made a strong entry into South Indian film industry with the Malayalam Premam. The actress was even nominated for the Best Female Debutante Award by South Indian International Movie Awards for her performance in the film.
The film quickly catapulted her to fame and she had to transform herself overnight from a college- going student to an actress.
Speaking about how the film changed her she said to Deccan Chronicle, “I can see some fans trying to peep into my house but nothing more than that! I do get a lot of messages on my social site mostly complimenting me but some mention that they love me and would like to marry me!”
The actress gave three releases in 2016. However none created the impact that her first film did.
After Premam the 20-year-old made a cameo presence in the Malayalam film James & Alice. This was followed by two Telugu films A Aa and Premam. While both the films were successful Anupama's performance in the film was barely noticed.
Her fourth film Kodi will hit the screens on Friday, 28 October. The Dhanush-starrer also marks Anupama's debut in Tamil films. The actress was not the first choice for the film. Initially South Indian actress Shamlee was supposed to play the role that Anupama eventually took on.
Could Kodi then be the major game changer in Anupama's career?
Being in the same film with stars like Dhanush and Trisha can have its advantages and disadvantages. While it can be a great learning experience, the stars sometimes tend to overshadow the performance of others in the film.
The actress already has two more films in the pipeline. She will be seen in Malayalam film Jomonte Suvisheshangal with Dulquer Salmaan and Mukesh and another Telugu film Sathamanam Bhavathi.
