Anil, Arjun Kapoor head to UK this December for first shoot schedule of Mubarakan
It’s Mubarakan (congratulations) time for Anees Bazmee, Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor as the trio are all set to start shooting for their wedding family entertainer on 20 November in the UK.
According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, the makers have done a recce to finalise the locations where they will be shooting a major part of the film. Once they are done with the first shooting schedule in the UK, the cast and crew will commence the second schedule in Punjab after which they will return to the UK.
The report adds that key portions of the script, including the climax, are set in a gurudwara. The team checked for permissions in Sikh-dominated areas like Kent and Surrey. Producer Murad Khetani has clarified that the locations are yet to be finalised but they will go on a recce after their schedule in India to zero in on them.
While there seems a cloud over getting permission to shoot in the religious places, director Bazmee has said that when they were in the UK, filmmaker Ashwini Dhir was shooting for his next Atithi In London inside a gurudwara. Therefore, Bazmee is confident that getting the permission will not be an issue.
This will be Bazmee’s fifth collaboration with Anil Kapoor after No Entry, No Problem and the Welcome franchise. However, this is the first time that Arjun Kapoor will be working with Bazmee as well as his uncle Anil. To make matters more interesting, they will play their off screen roles of chacha-bhateeja (uncle-nephew) in the film.
According to a report by International Business Times, the story will revolve around Arjun’s character, an eligible bachelor, and Anil’s character will play love guru to his nephew, helping him to choose between two gorgeous ladies. It is a Punjabi destination wedding film set abroad and will also see Arjun in a double role after Aurangzeb.
Arjun will soon start prepping up for the role with a diction coach.
We have all seen and adored Anil Kapoor in a dysfunctional Punjabi family in Dil Dhadakne Do and Arjun Kapoor in a wedding film in 2 States. It will be interesting to see the two combine their energies in what is set to be another laugh riot by Bazmee.
