In a treat for music lovers, Pakistani pop stars Ali Zafar and Atif Aslam came together for a live performance in Pakistan.
Based on the themes of friendship and unity, the song 'Yaar Yaaron Se Hon Na Juda', has a patriotic touch. The song was sung live on 6 September to celebrate the spirit of Defence Day, which commemorates the country's defence against India during the 1965 India-Pakistan war.
Written by Pakistan-based lyricist Imran Raza, the song is composed by music director Sahir Ali Bagga.
ANI reported, "The song is about friendship and unity. It's the first time the two superstars will collaborate on a song."
Bagga revealed in an interview to The Express Tribune that it was his idea to bring the two stars together.
“When the song was commissioned to me by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), I thought it would be good to bring in two of the biggest names in Pakistani music,” he said.
While the singers are known to have jammed often behind closed doors this was be the first time that their fans saw them singing together live.
Ali Zafar shared a picture from the performance on social media.
Earlier the actor expressed his excitement on Twitter.
