In Bollywood, we are currently seeing a practice which has slowly turned into the norm — actors producing their own films. In order to establish themselves in the production business, actors are now coming forward to produce films which star their contemporaries. In one such move, Ajay Devgn, who runs Ajay Devgn FFilms, has decided to produce a film which will star Sanjay Dutt and Farhan Akhtar in lead roles, as per a DNAreport.
It is being speculated that the film in question is going to be directed by Nishikant Kamat. Kamat had also directed Devgn's 2015 crime film Drishyam. The duo will now come together for another film that will not star Devgn, but rather his peers.
As per a DNA source, Devgn is looking to expand horizons as a producer. Since he cannot possibly star in all the films he decides to produce, he will cast whoever he thinks is best suited for the role.
Devgn is currently wrapping up Golmaal Again. He also has Baba Ramdev's biopic in the pipeline, the full details of which are yet to be revealed.
A lot of A-list celebrities have also been keeping up with the trend of producing their contemporaries' films. Earlier, Salman Khan went the extra mile to produce the Athiya Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi-starrer Hero. More recently, Shah Rukh Khan came on board to produce Ittefaq, the film starring Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha.
