Aishwarya Rai Bachchan says she is just a chapter in Fanne Khan, there are other talents in film too
Last seen in Sarbjit, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is still waiting for her big hit post her five-year-long hiatus. Currently, there is a lot of frenzy around the role she is essaying in Fanne Khan. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Aishwarya said there's a reason why she took up Fanne Khan: "I am a chapter in the film, not the fulcrum. There are other talents in the story and you will see why I chose to do the film once it releases."
Fanne Khan is a remake of a Dutch film Everybody's Famous. The KriArj production also features Anil Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao, who plays her love interest. The film will mark Anil and Aishwarya's third collaboration.
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, one of the producers of the film, was highly impressed with Aishwarya's performance as a singer-performer in the film. Because of her acting prowess, her role was fleshed out even more and she was given more screen space than what the original actress had in Everybody's Famous, reports Deccan Chronicle. The film also marks the directorial debut of adman Atul Manjrekar, who has been associated with Mehra for a long time.
Fanne Khan is slated to release on 13 July.
