Abhay Deol's debut Canadian film The Field to introduce Everest actor Shamata Anchan
Abhay Deol returned to the silver screen with Mudassar Aziz's romantic comedy from last year, Happy Bhag Jayegi, after a gap of two years. Prior to that, he was seen in Devika Bhagat's 2014 romantic comedy One By Two.
Now, Mumbai Mirror reports that he will be seen in his first international project The Field. Television actor Shamata Anchan has been signed opposite Deol in the Canadian film.
The report quotes her as saying, "I was shooting for a TV show, Bin Kuch Kahe, in Jaipur when I got a call for this international Hindi-English bilingual. We shot the film in Mumbai and Delhi and wrapped up the film in 30 days. It’s based on the capital’s land mafia with Abhay playing a cop. I didn’t have to think twice about agreeing to star opposite Abhay in my first feature."
Anchan made her small screen debut with Ashutosh Gowariker's adventure show Everest three years ago. Now, she is gearing up for her debut on the big screen. Though she has no scenes with Ronit Roy, she is glad that the senior actor is also a part of her debut film. Neeraj Kabi is also in the film as he plays the antagonist.
