New RBI fellowship opens today, here’s more about it

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today announced a National Fellowship Scheme, in the name of Prof. K N Raj, a noted economist. RBI, on its website said: ‘The objective of this scheme is to encourage distinguished research scholars in India or abroad to work in academic institutions in India for a short period and to facilitate interaction between the scholar and other faculties of the institution in which the scholar would work.’

The theme: will be identified by a Steering Committee on Economic and Policy Research (SCEPR) of the Reserve Bank of India.

Eligibility: If you are a scholar in the field of social sciences and come from any reputed universities or research institutions you can apply. The university or institution can be domestic or international.

This fellowship is open to Indian and foreign nationals. And, you should have professionally contributed in publication of papers or articles in leading international journals.

Finer details: Only one will be selected for the fellowship at a time according to the RBI notification. The duration will be for three months, but could be spread to six months. A lumpsum of Rs15 lakh will be given to cover all expenses. RBI will reserve the right to first publish the paper as a web publication on its website.
