Mayawati slams UPA for ‘anti-people decisions’

by Sep 15, 2012

After unleashing the big bang Friday on economic front, the Centre is now at the receiving end both from its political opponents and allies alike. Latest to join this bandwagon is former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and BSP supremo Mayawati, who today lashed out at the government for its “anti-people decisions”.

“The country’s poor, middle class population and the farmers will be the worst affected by the rise in prices of diesel and LPG cylinders,” she told reporters in Lucknow.

Disapproving the hike in diesel prices, the BSP head said, “Diesel price hike will give rise to inflation. It will make life difficult for the common people.”

Mayawati also expressed her reservations on the approval of FDI in multi-brand retail.

“BSP disapproves of FDI in multi-brand retail. Our party opposed this FDI policy a year back as well when it was introduced,” she said.
