by Dec 13, 2012

A massive fire broke out in an electrical equipment godown at Bhagirath Palace market in New Delhi’s Chandni Chowk area on Thursday evening. The fire has been brought under control and no casualties have been reported yet.

CNN-IBN report said that 22 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire. Though the fire had not spread to any other building, people around the area were asked to shut their shops.

The reason behind the fire that broke out in the second or third floor of the building is still unknown.

The blaze is said to have erupted around 5.10 pm.

Onlookers said that the fire fighters had a tough time getting to the building because of the narrow lanes of the area.

“It will take some time for fire fighter to put out the blaze,” New Delhi’s chief fire officer told Times Now.
