Sonia Gandhi is right. Baba Ramdev and Team Anna are part of a conspiracy against Congress.

Team Anna and Baba Ramdev may claim to be politically neutral but their actions seem to indicate otherwise. Team Anna targets specific ministers in the cabinet while Baba Ramdev finds an ally in the BJP against black money, and accuses the government of trying to murder him. With a “you are either with us or with corruption” argument, it has become near impossible to evolve a consensus on anything related to black money or corruption and it has become a campaign against the government that is based more on theories and allegations. And mysteriously we aren’t concerned about corruption in individual states but only in the Centre. While Sonia Gandhi may have used a word too strong, she can’t be blamed for seeing a conspiracy that seems to be targeting only the Central government and not all cases of corruption. read less read more

No, it isn't -- unless Sonia Gandhi wants to see it that way. Anna Hazare and Ramdev have chosen to take a softer route, by underlining that the movement is anti-corruption, not anti-Congress. The recent arrest of the BJP MLA in Karnataka in a case where he was found guilty by the Lokayukta, in a way, lends more credence to the movement being anti corrupt, rather than anti-Congress. The Congress, and Sonia Gandhi, could well feel that the movement is against them -- because of the simple arithmetic involved. There are more allegations against their party than against other parties, and the immediate impression could very well be that Anna Hazare and Ramdev are against the Congress. Wear the hat if it fits you, Ms. Gandhi. read less read more
