Water management company VA Tech Wabag today said it has received an order worth Rs 270 crore from Reliance Industries (RIL) for setting up an industrial effluent treatment plant.
“RIL has chosen VA Tech Wabag for construction of a 32.4 million litres per day effluent treatment plant with recycle facility for their proposed PTA and PET Dahej manufacturing plant and tertiary treatment plant for Reliance Hazira Complex for an order aggregating to Rs 270 crore,” VA Tech Wabag said in a statement.
The effluent from the facility would be recycled and reused at the Dahej complex. The effluent treatment plant and recycle facility is the first large-scale recycle plant for Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) wastewater in India, it said.
“…this (the order) goes to prove that VA Tech Wabag enjoys the most preferred supplier status with RIL and this speaks volumes for customer confidence and our long-term relationship,” company’s Managing Director Rajiv Mittal said.
This is the for the second time VA Tech Wabag would set up an effluent treatment plant for RIL. It had executed a similar job for the Mukesh Ambani-controlled company’s Jamnagar refinery in 1999.
“The effluent treatment and recycle facility at Dahej is expected to be executed within a period of 21 months,” VA Tech Wabag said.
VA Tech Wabag’s shares were trading at Rs 447.90 apiece during the afternoon trade at the BSE, up 2.87 percent over the previous closing.
