Chennai: Japanese automaker Nissan Motor today said it has sold 3,000 units of Datsun redi-GO cars, since the launch last month.

Nissan Motor launched the redi-GO compact car under the Datsun brand, competing against Maruti Suzuki Alto and Hyundai's Eon.
Nissan had launched Datsun GO in 2014, marking the global comeback of the brand after nearly three decades.
"This unprecedented growth of Datsun brand is due to the phenomenal response Datsun redi-GO is getting from people across the country," Nissan Motor Managing Director Arun Malhotra said in a company release.
