News18 Rising India Summit: Narendra Modi to open event; visionaries to celebrate country's journey from take-off to triumph

With none other than the Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the top speaker, News18’s Rising India Summit on 16-17 March promises to be a highly significant affair. The Summit, to be held in New Delhi, will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister with his keynote address. Rising India Summit is the marquee thought-leadership initiative of News18 Network, the country’s largest news network. The first edition of the summit will feature a heavy-duty line-up of national and international luminaries from the fields of governance, arts, business and academia. The President of the Republic of Gabon, Ali Bongo Ondimba will be among foreign dignitaries. The Rising India Summit is a culmination of a series of ‘Rising Series’ of Network18 that had taken place in various states across the country. “We are proud to announce the News18 Rising India Summit, which is the grand culmination of Rising Series hosted by our network. The Rising Series in states like UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka and Kerala saw participation of all Chief Ministers and key policy makers. We believe this is the best time to conclude the series by bringing together top policy makers, corporate leaders and global visionaries to celebrate India’s journey from take-off to triumph,” Avinash Kaul, President, Network18 said about Rising India Summit. The Economic Survey has mentioned that India would re-establish itself as the world’s fastest growing major economy with GDP expanding by 7-7.5 percent in 2018-19. The survey has pegged the GDP growth for the current fiscal at 6.75 percent. The World Bank in its ‘Ease of doing business’ report has ranked India at 100th position – a jump of 30 places from its previous ranking. The Rising India Summit will act as a crucible, where churning of ideas takes place as experts from diverse fields contribute on India’s growth story. Many significant announcements can be expected at the summit. “Experts in diverse fields will contribute ideas, and no doubt make commitments to furthering the grand project on which India has embarked. It will be an opportunity to applaud our successes and lay the plans for many more to come. We believe that this summit will sow the intention and pen down the direction of taking India to another level of growth in the coming years,” added Kaul.
