Goldman Sachs to invest Rs 1,000cr in ReNew Wind Power

Goldman Sachs has decided to invest Rs 1,000 cr in ReNew Wind Power, owned by former Suzlon CEO Sumant Sinha.

It is the biggest investment by Goldman Sachs in India.

For Goldman Sachs renewable energy is like a gold mine and that explains his investment of $ 1.5 billion in renewable energy all across the world.

Wind energy as a whole is quite close to the actual conventional energy. Reuters

Despite recent turmoil in the market, the investment giant has invested Rs 1,000 crore into the space in India.

Sumant Sinha, Chairman & CEO of ReNew Wind Power said that they plan to increase their capacity by 200-300 mega-watt every year to reach 1 giga-watt by the end of 2015. He said, “Wind energy as a whole is quite close to actual conventional energy.”

The plant has the potential of earning high revenues. ReNew Wind Power will also earn revenues from selling the renewable enrgy certificates it receives from its wind power plant.

Keeping in view the high revenue that wind energy can earn, Goldman Sachs’ looks to reap rich rewards in the future.
