While Hrithik Roshan is still reeling from the poor performance of Mohenjo Daro at the box office, he already has a couple of films lined up. Reports suggest that after his home production Kaabil, the actor will be seen in a Siddarth Anand film, Fighter, where he will be playing the role of an Air Force pilot.
This would be the actor's second collaboration with Anand after they worked together on Bang Bang in 2014.
While the action thriller was a remake of the Hollywood film Knight and Day, Fighter is said to be inspired by Tom Cruise-starrer Top Gun.
However Anand, who has successful films like Salaam Namaste and Anjaana Anjaani to his credit, is reportedly finding it difficult to attach a big name to his project. Sajid Nadiadwala, who produced the Ranbir Kapoor film, refused to produce the project citing it to be too expensive.
This is not the first time that he plays the role of a uniformed officer. In his 2004 film Lakshya, Roshan played the role of an army soldier.
Reports say that Hrithik will be shooting for Fighter from November this year.
Further reports even suggest that the actor will also be seen in a Vijay Krishna Acharya film produced by Yash Raj Films. Said to be based on the novel Confession of A Thug written by Philip Meadows Taylor, it will tentatively be titled Thug.
However, a DNA report mentions that Hrithik has walked out of Thug. "Hrithik is busy shooting for Sanjay Gupta’s Kaabil. But after that film is completed, his dates are free as the actor has not committed to any other film. He even walked out of Thug.”
Maybe this is Hrithik's way of responding to reports that called him a fading star. But just having projects will not do, the actor now faces a daunting task of making all these films successful.
