The Talaash trailer has just surfaced on the internet. Given the kind of frenzy Aamir Khan churns up post Satyamev Jayate, it's all set to go viral on the internet.
Aamir Khan, in his most significant moustache-turn since he played Mangal Pandey, looks suitably disgruntled - knitted brows, piercing eyes et al - to nail the role of a police officer investigating a series of murders in Mumbai.
However, it is Rani Mukherji, in her no make-up, limp cotton saree look, who stands out in the melee of a few of the biggest names in Bollywood. After an unsuccessful attempt at size-zero hotness in Dil Bole Hadippa and a tryst with forced spunk, beside a stunning Vidya Balan in No One Killed Jessica, Aiyaa and now Talaash might just turn out to be Mukherjee's turmp cards.
The actress, seemingly, plays the role of Aamir Khan's wife and is pleasantly reminiscent of her Yuva role in this one.
Kareena Kapoor, presumably, plays the role of a call girl. However, she pales in comparison to Mukherjee. Or maybe it's a jarring 'halkat jawani' hangover we have!
Given that Reema Kagti's last film, Honeymoon Travels, was a lighthearted comedy about relationships, the director's turn as a thriller-maker is something we can look forward to. However, though the smartly-cut trailer is in line with the style-book of psychological thrillers, it lacks the urgency of the same. Let's hope the film proves otherwise!
