There is a new teaser out for Game of Thrones’ Season 5, and we would ask you to rejoice, but we don’t want to get you all worked up for nothing. Unfortunately, HBO is taking cues from Snapchat when it comes to GoT’s promotions. They’ve released promos, yes, but it’s only for one viewing. Yes, you read right. Just ONE viewing. [caption id=“attachment_1855455” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Coutesy: Facebook[/caption] The promos are meant to be “exclusively” for fans, which basically means all those who are ready to sign up on HBO’s new website, Three Eyed Raven. Once you sign up, you will receive ‘The Sight’. It’s a little ironic that the new offerings are called ‘The Sight’ because they are blink-and-you-miss-it teasers and they’re immediately deleted after a single viewing. So, if you do sign up for viewing, remember to focus all your energy on the promos. There is no replay button. You can sign up on Three Eyed Raven via Twitter or SMS. If you decide to sign up through your Twitter account , you grant ‘The Sight’ permission to view your public information and tweets and also allow the ability to update your profile, post tweets for you and see who you follow and follow new people on your behalf. Yes, you literally let them overtake your account. But in return you receive teasers of GoT, so yay! It’s not a good deal by any imagination – HBO gets a lot more out of your data than you do from the teasers – but who can resist getting a glimpse of season 5? Unfortunately, the two promos HBO has released so far don’t offer much. The latest one is 16 seconds long and one truly awesome Reddit user has found a way to record it and put that up on Youtube, so that we can replay it as many times as we want. Take a look:
If you have bad eye sight and can’t really see what’s happening, this is what you see in the montage: Sansa Stark, Tyrion and Cersei Lannister, someone on a boat, weirwood tree or heart tree (difficult to tell) and a book being slammed shut. That’s all. The other trailer, which was released a few days ago, focuses on Arya Stark. Maisie Williams, who plays the role of Arya in GoT, was lot more helpful than The Sight. The actress during an interview to The Guardian revealed that there will be a “big ending” for Arya Stark.
Will there be another Stark death in GoT? (dear God! please no). Arya Stark’s character is still alive in RR Martin’s books, so let us take heart in that. In fact, the character appears in a recent excerpt from The Winds of Winter, Martin’s upcoming novel. But, keeping in mind that the series have been a lot different from the book, we might see the death of another Stark in season 5. Arya was last seen boarding a ship to Bravos. In April 2015, GoT will return with its new season. Reportedly, HBO might be launching it’s own streaming service since so many GoT fans download or stream the series online.
