Judwaa, which created a stir in its release year featured Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Rambha in the lead. It was a remake of the 1994 Telugu film Hello Brother which was inspired from Jackie Chan's film Twin Dragons.
The film, touted to be a cult classic, is to have a sequel with a dose of Varun Dhawan on the doubles.
Earlier reports in DNA had revealed that Parineeti Chopra and Jacqueline Fernandez have been finalised to play the two female leads. While Jacqueline will play Mala, originally played by Karisma Kapoor, Parineeti will be playing Roopa, Rambha's character.
The news of the film being developed into a sequel has got the audience curious and anticipating its release already.
The film will go on floors in January and the look-tests have already begun in Los Angeles.
This has been a productive year for NGE which delivered three most loved films in 2016, Baaghi, Housefull 3 and Dishoom.
NGE is on a high and has been gearing up for its upcoming period romantic drama film Rangoon.
